Mannheim - At the confluence of Rhine and Neckar
In the "City of Squares" - named after the grid-shaped layout of the city centre - you will find elector's monuments and modern architecture, a unique array of cultural events and the irresistible shopping areas "An den Planken" and "Breite Strasse". Take a tour of the second largest city in Baden-Württemberg, you may want to visit the Wasserturm (Watertower), the baroque castle and the Christuskirche; take a walk through the Luisenpark and broaden your horizons by visiting the Planetarium, the Landesmuseum für Technik und Arbeit [State Museum for Technology and Work] or the Kunsthalle [Arts Centre].
Heidelberg - Romantic at the Neckar river
No matter if you look down from the majestic Königsstuhl or take in the view from the Alte Brücke up to the Heidelberg Castle - both impressions will be memorable, just like the sights of Germany's oldest university town: the world-famous castle ruins with the German Pharmacy museum, the Heidelberg Grosses Fass [the world's largest wine barrel] and the castle gardens, the romantic old city with its lively alleys. The Baden State Museum in the Karlsruhe Castle - located at the centre of the fanshaped city lay-out - exhibits art and every day objects dating from the Stone Age up to the 19th Century. Next to the traditional, the art scene sets score on innovation, to be seen in the unique ZKM, the Centre for Art and Media Technology. Enjoy nature in Karlsruhe, it is plentiful - a handsome 2000 acres, i.e. in the Botanical Garden, the City Park or the Zoo.
Stuttgart - State Capital of Baden-Württemberg

Mainz - State Capital of Rhineland-Palatinate
